Auden House was featured in the 7th August edition of Tameside Reporter as part of the headline article entitled “1914-1918 Tameside remembers”.
The text of the article reads:
The centenary of the First World Ward was also commemorated in suitable style at Auden House Residential Home in Audenshaw. The Victorian property, home to 24 residents, welcomed relatives and neighbours on Sunday (3rd August). Adorned in early 20th century attire, the residents were treated on the day to a tombola, cake competition and face painting stall, which the children took full advantage of. John Evans, co-owner of Auden House expressed his delight at the turnout and told us: “It was well attended and people could pay their respects in a comforting environment in a different and enjoyable way”
